Chris Topper is an artist based in Portland, Oregon, working primarily in oil and acrylic painting, as well as drawing. His work explores themes of identity, memory, and mortality, blending careful observation with imagination to create quietly surreal, narrative-driven imagery. Through nuanced color, atmosphere, and symbolism, Topper’s paintings and drawings invite viewers into contemplative, dreamlike spaces shaped by curiosity, reflection, and emotional resonance. Topper received his BFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He has sustained a dedicated exhibition practice for over a decade, presenting numerous solo and group exhibitions in Portland, San Francisco, and internationally, and is represented by Brassworks Gallery. Recent solo exhibitions include Sleepwalker (2025) and Made from Dreams (2024). His work has been exhibited at WOW x WOW (UK), Nucleus Gallery, Faultline Gallery, and has been featured in Birdy Magazine.
